Production on the project is expected to begin later this year. Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who created Avatar: The Last Airbender and sequel series The Legend of Korra, will be running Avatar Studios as co-chief creative officers, so it stands to reason that they'll be involved in the feature-film as well.
