Vintage Fiesta 8 1/2" Nappy Bowl in Original Yellow GlazeĬirca 1938-1951: Fully glazed with an in the mold early mark and a great sunny yellow bowl without damage or use makes this an excellent example of the vintage Fiesta nappy bowl. Harlequin and Riviera pottery lines also have two versions of the nappie, the 9" Round Nappy Bowl and the Oval Baker.
Vintage Fiesta Nappy bowls will be found with the in-mold mark and were fully glazed and set by hand onto saggers in the kiln until the 50s when the shelf loading began and the foots were wiped dry to accomadate this faster method. The vintage fiesta 8 1/2" nappy bowl is such an indispensable item that it is one of the few original pieces introduced in 1936 that ran the entire time of production and is even being made again today in the contemporary fiesta glazes. Nappie is an old English word that describes an open serving bowl.
